CHILDREN & YOUTH PROGRAMS
IHI strives to support orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) through a comprehensive assistance program. This will go along way to create them access to education, healthcare and food.
Youth programs involve activities oriented towards youth development. Here the youths have the opportunity to nuture their talents through mentoring activities, community youth centres and clubs, holiday camps and other activities promoting physical fitness and teamwork.
IHI implements adolescent-friendly policies and streghten sexual and reproductive health services among the youth.
The organization also works to strengthen healthcare and education of the youth as well as address harmful practices like child marriage, unwanted pregnancies, female genital mutilation and drug abuse.
EDUCATION PROGRAMS
Education is a key to a brighter future. Lack of access to education and poor quality of available schools can undermine people’s potential to have successful future. IHI seeks to provide children, youth and adults with safe and quality educational opportunities that help them learn the skills they need to survive and thrive.
ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT PROGRAMS
Poverty contributes to higher rates of illness and disabilities. IHI focuses on increasing productivity, employment and household income by initiating economic development programs targeting women and men. This involves empowerment in agriculture, livestock, and entrepreneurship among other projects.
